He was my locker mate at Kearns Jr. High.  I cannot say a bad thing about him.

Bill was a good friend and buddy.  A few may know and many may not know, Bill had a younger brother that died in a bicycle accident in 1965.

Bill was also a fantastic artist.  We sat  by each other in one of our Jr. High classes, and he would show me his drawings.  He was the only kid I knew who was hit with lightning while out on the play ground.  He survived that, only to be killed by a rocket while in Nam.

He also survived being struck by lightning in younger years. Yes war is sad no one wins. They just take it elsewhere.

Bill was one of my best friends.  We joined the Marine Corps together on the "Buddy Plan" right out of High School in 1966.  We were briefly united in October 1967 in Da Nang, South Viet Nam.  The Marine Corps would not allow me to escourt his body home.  I think of Bill daily. Yes he was a good artist, He drew a hot Rod in my year book, and said how he was excited about us joining the Marines. I took a copy of that page to the Viet-Nam wall in washington D.C. and left it at his Panel in 1988.

Bill was a great guy, we did many things together from Elementry School to High School. We played baseball together in 5th grade, Steve Andersen, Fred Lurcher, myself and Bill were playing BaseBall at Oquirrh Hills when Lighting struck between the Pitcher (Fred) and Jay Nelson (at bat), Bill was catching and I was at 3rd base, Steve Andersen was at 1st. We all got knock down, Bill, Jay and Fred did not get up. Teachers came and ordered everyone in. I went to the window in the classroom and saw Teachers using blankets for strechers to carry in Bill, Jay and Fred. Bill and Jay came back to School in a few days, Fred came back in a week or two but only to say goodby, He was burnt bad and could not see very well. He did not ever come back to School again.Bill and I were sitting together in an assembly at Cyprus, He was showing me a magazine and some pics that he had drawn ( very good ) when a teacher came and took him out and told him his brother has been hit by a car. Very Sad, Bill's life ended way too soon.
