I have such fond memories of Randy and Linda. He was a great guy and is missed by all of us. My heart goes out to Linda and their families. It was recently requested that Randy's obituary be added to his profile on our class website to honor him. Below is the obituary that was published in Desert News on January 16 and January 17, 2015:

                                             Randy Baker Rushton 1948 - 2016

Randy Baker Rushton - A wonderful husband, dad, papa, brother, uncle, and friend passed away January 14, 2016 after a long struggle with COPD. Born to Don and Adele Rushton on October 4, 1948. He was raised in Hunter, Utah surrounded by grandparents, aunts & uncles, cousins and life long friends. When he was 14 years old he met and fell in love with his life long partner Lynda Fern Jones. They were later married and would remain that way for the next 48 years. They had 3 children, Jesse, Camille, and Jeannine. Their greatest joy came later in life when they became grandparents to 5 amazing grandchildren Maegan, Lucas, Maximus, August, and Rhiannon. It took a special man to work the soil and coax the crops from the land. Not an easy life but he held fast and proudly gave all he had to it. Although his heart was dear to all of us who knew him he held a special place for his beloved dogs. After he retired from the farm he found some of his greatest joys in Mesquite, NV. Where he loved his condo, the sun, golfing and his beloved slot machines. He is survived by his wife Lynda; his children, Jesse (Heather) Rushton, Camille Rushton, and Jeannine (Ryan) Fowler; Grandchildren Maegan (Teddy) Brems, Lucas Fowler, Maximus Fowler, August Rushton and Rhiannon Rushton; Sister Lynda (Clyde) Ahlquist and brother Craig (Debbie) Rushton and many nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 18th, 12:00 noon at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 So.) Viewings, Sunday from 5:00-7:00 p.m and Monday from 11:00 - 11:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment Valley View Memorial Park. Online condolences at www.jenkins-soffe.com

Fellow Mori Met.

Randy was quite a guy.  One great baseball player and good friend.  I remember the wonderful support we got from his beautiful wife Linda.  She was the teams adopted Mori Met.  Thank you Linda for attending all our ball games and rooting for your man.  Remember the nights after a game at Magna Park, Henry Mori would bring the team to his store for sodas. Those were the days.  Please accept my heart felt condolences on Randy's passing.  He will be missed.

A friend always,  Stan Saltas #15
